Story Seven
A great example that this tool can be used by classes that are thousands miles away or teams of students in one classroom
This idea crossed my mind when Boris Berlijn and his Dutch students were about to meet us in our school. I created an activity in which the teams of students would look for an international English word that is used in the same or similar form in Dutch and Czech language. At the beginning I provided the students with a list of suggested words, which finally turned out to be unnecessary. The students really worked hard and had a lot fun. What was fantastic that they were exposed three languages at the same time.
The students came with wonderful examples.
After wrapping this activity up I realised that it really does not matter how far the students from one another. If they´re in the same classroom, they chat. If they´re on opposite sides of the planet, they simply use technology. This clearly shows that we can make our existing classroom activities global really easy.
